"Home of the Jaguars"
Wynwood, Miami 2019
By some sort of coincidence or star alignment right after finishing a mural with 4 Jaguars in Cancun and seeing jaguars everywhere (dreams included) I was about to paint a wall at Jose de Diego Middle School, a school that after the hard work and passion of the good people from Raw Project has become an amazing sort of mural museum for the local kids who study there and those visiting Wynwood.
Jose de Diego has the Jaguar as their mascot. An animal that's a strong symbol of strength, respect and resistance, which is very appropriate in a neighborhood that has changed so much in such a short period of time.
Despite all those changes in its surroundings JDD middle school is and will still be for a long time the home of the Jaguars.
